Marken, Max W. Dixboro
Age 86, passed away on June 15, 2011. Max was born May 28, 1925, the son of the late Glenn and Velma (Sayers) Marken. On October 5, 1946, Max married Laurel Gillespie. Max was a dedicated former fire chief of Superior Township for 27 years and was also a member of Dixboro United Methodist Church. Max was also an active member of the Washtenaw NauTies, a Model T club. Max is survived by his wife, Laurel (Gillespie) Marken; children, Lynn (Marken) Fountain and Bill (Carol) Marken; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters and various nieces and nephews. Max is preceded in death by one grandson. A memorial service will be held at Dixboro United Methodist Church Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow in the fellowship hall.
