Middle of the Left is a personal political blog by Diane Giannola that covers city of Ann Arbor politics. It started in 2013. There are no comments allowed on the blog. The author is known for their Latin epigrams at the end of each post, and for calling members of Ann Arbor City Council that they disagree with "Teapublicans".
In May 2014, the Ann Arbor Chronicle identified the author of this weblog as Diane Giannola, at the time a member of the Ann Arbor City Planning Commission. On Nov. 4, 2015, Giannola – a Democrat – pulled petitions to run in 2016 for Ann Arbor City Council in Ward 4. As of January 2016, the authorship of the blog is noted on the home page.
