Miller starts at Main Street and heads west until it turns into Miller Road. It's the way you'd go to go to Dexter. Heading east from Main, the street is Catherine Street.

This road is an important commuter route from areas west of Ann Arbor to the city and University of Michigan. It is frequently congested in the morning and evenings. Westbound traffic from North Campus uses Plymouth Road (to Broadway Street to Beakes Street to Kingsley Street to First Street. Eastbound traffic from Miller to North Campus is somewhat more complicated.

Planned Improvements

In the spring of 2013, reconstruction of Miller Avenue from Newport west to Maple began with the closure of westbound Miller Avenue.  The City of Ann Arbor has a traffic control plan.  A map is available showing the work area

The City of Ann Arbor is planning improvements to Miller Avenue from Newport west to Maple in 2011 (see: http://www.a2gov.org/government/publicservices/project_management/upcomingprojects/Pages/MillerAvenueImprovements%28MapletoNewport%29.aspx )
