Add a captionAnn Arbor's Mr. Rib was one of the most popular barbecue joints in Michigan. Jesse Campbell (d.2006) was the sole proprietor and throughout its existence it moved a variety of times, starting on Main Street, later in a location on Packard near Platt Rd, and finally ending up in a carry-out location on Ellsworth Rd west of State St. Mr. Rib also sold sandwiches at U-M football games for a few years. A favorite sandwich there was the Soul on a Roll.
