Path to STEAM
Northside School was formerly a K-5 elementary school in the AAPS district. In response to dwindling enrollment at Northside the school was converted to K-8 enrollment with a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) focus. The A2 STEAM curriculum debuted at Northside in the 2014-2015 school year with around 400 students - including new sixth grade classes. 2015 saw the addition of seventh grade, with eighth grade enrollment beginning in Fall 2016.
Timeline:
1939: What was known then as Northside School opens. Katherine E. Harrington becomes it's first principal and serves in that position until 1961.
