Paul N. Edwards is an associate professor in the UM School of Information and founder of the STS program. He is the author of The Closed World: Computers and the Politics of Discourse in Cold War America (MIT Press, 1996), and co-editor of two others: Changing Life: Genomes, Ecologies, Bodies, Commodities (University of Minnesota Press, 1997) and Changing the Atmosphere: Expert Knowledge and Environmental Governance (MIT Press, 2001).
