Ceely, Richard Glenn

Age 83, died on March 23, 2010 of lung cancer. Richard was born on June 12, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Doris (Paige) and Arthur Ceely. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 yrs, Shirley Ceely (Bradley); their children David, Janet (Stephen) Langer and Jim (Angela); four grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Nathan and Andrew. Richard is also survived by siblings Robert (Jonatha) Ceely, John Paige, and nephew Michael Ceely. A graduate of Dartmouth College, and an Army Air Force Veteran, Richard and his wife owned Parkman Printing, an Ann Arbor commercial printing company, for 18 years. Richard was an avid college hockey fan, and coached with the Ann Arbor Amateur Hockey Association. Throughout his life and after retirement, he enjoyed The New York Times crossword puzzles; sailing, including cruises down the Atlantic coast and to the Bahamas over a seven year period; and bicycling, accumulating over 10,000 miles with the Ann Arbor Bicycle Touring Society. According to his wishes, Richard is being cremated and his ashes will be spread off the coast of Massachusetts. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Ann Arbor Art Center, 117 W. Liberty Street, Ann Arbor MI 48104 on Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please direct any memorial contributions to The Arbor Hospice Foundation, 2366 Oak Valley Dr, Ann Arbor MI 48103-8944.
