Ronald Weiser is the founder of McKinley, a real estate management company based in Ann Arbor. He was the chairman of the Michigan Republican Party from February 2009 through 2010. He was a former U.S. ambassador to Slovakia from 2001 to 2005, and is a major fundraiser for the Republican party.
At the state Republican Party convention in August 2014, Weiser was nominated by the GOP delegates to be one of two Republican candidates for University of Michigan regent on the Nov. 4, 2014 general election ballot. (The other GOP candidate is Rob Steele.)
