The Michigan Daily (ISSN 0745-967; http://www.michigandaily.com/ ; 420 Maynard Street, Ann Arbor) is a daily newspaper covering the University of Michigan's campus, Ann Arbor and the state. The paper publishes every day that the University of Michigan holds classes during its Fall and Winter semesters (typically Monday-Friday) and on Thursdays during the summer.

Although the paper is considered the University of Michigan's student newspaper, it receives no funding from the University and is independent. The paper's masthead bears the line “125 years of editorial freedom.”

The paper is student-run; its business and editorial staffs are composed entirely of University students.
