Outgrowing its small storefront in downtown Chelsea, the owners of the Potting Shed purchased the historic Sylvan Township building and substantially renovated the interior. A new second floor was added on new columns placed upon the building’s original stone foundations. Masonry infill was removed from the original window openings. The traditional hall paneling was conserved and the old proscenium arch was exposed to act as a gateway to a new exterior balcony.
