Electro Arc's former location in Ann Arbor

In 2019 Stillion Industries obtained Electro Arc Manufacturing co. which had been operating in the Ann Arbor area since the 1940s.  The company founder Howard Stark patented the Electro Arc AC metal disintegrator in 1942 and was the first company to manufacture it commercially.  Electro Arc manufacturing has a history of providing their portable metal disintegrators for use in submarines by the US Navy.  Electro Arc metal disintegrators are made in the USA and have been sold internationally to assist customers in removing broken bolts, broken taps, broken drills, broken pins and more from their work pieces.  As a result of this acquisition, Stillion Industries has added to its existing services production of the Electro Arc Metal disintegrator line of 40 + machines and the Ames portable hardness testers line.  Ames portable Hardness testers are designed for checking the hardness of materials in the Rockwell scales.  The Ames precision hardness tester is lightweight, hand held instrument that has a “y”configuration.  Simple in appearance it is guaranteed to be accurate within +/-1 Rockwell point.
