Vantage Point! was a popular local jazz-rock band in the 1980's. The group arose from a core of local musicians participating in the Washtenaw Community College Jazz program and re-emerged as a working band. The group toured Europe twice and performed at the 1979 Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland on the bill with Weather Report and Willie Bobo. They also performed in the Olympic Village at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid.

The early incarnations of Vantage Point! performed mostly straight jazz, but with the contributions of other members experiences, they incorporated blues and rock as well.
