The ARROW Communication Association holds the W8RP call sign, originally used by the late Roy Purchase of Purchase Radio. The call sign is used for the club repeater on 146.96 MHz (PL 100) which is located at the top of Wolverine Tower.

The ANN ARBOR RADIO ASSOCIATION has a long history of being a hobby related gathering of like minded radio amateurs going back into the 1920's The group went into hibernation in the late 1950's only to meet informally and irregularly at the Purchase Radio Store in Ann Arbor during the next 40 years. In the mid-90's several hams decided it was time to reactivate the AARA with semi-regular yearly meetings of all interested parties. The call-sign W8RP, formerly of Mr. Roy Purchase (silent key in 1987), was applied for in the latter part of the last century. Meetings are yet being held on an irregular schedule; check with the trustee, Jan K1ND

W8ZSS Frank Kish, my father was one of the "hams" who used to "hang out" at the Purchase Camera Store on South U during the forties and  fifties.  He died still active in St Clair Shores Mi in Sept 2000 on Labor Day.
