WCARS is the Western Carolina Amateur Radio Society. The club was founded in 1977 and serves radio amateurs in the Asheville/Buncombe County area of Western North Carolina.

Club meetings are usually at A-B Tech Rhododendron building room 351 at 7:30 PM on the first Thursday of each month.

The club 2 meter repeater, W4MOE (146.91 MHz(-) - 91.5 Hz PL tone.), is located on Spivey Mountain northwest of Asheville. It is the primary repeater for the Buncombe County ARES. The club maintains a list of repeaters on other frequencies.
