North Avenue is a major east-west thoroughfare that runs through the city.

The area surrounding North Avenue is rich in history, architecture, and culture. One of the most notable landmarks in the area is the historic Parkway Theater, which was built in 1915 and has since been renovated to showcase independent and foreign films.

North Avenue is also home to a variety of restaurants, shops, and cultural institutions, including the Baltimore City Arts District and the Station North Tool Library.

The perception of the area among some residents and visitors is that it is unsafe and should be avoided. However, many community members and local organizations are working to improve safety and build a sense of community on North Avenue. The city has invested in various revitalization efforts to beautify the area, including renovating historic buildings and hosting community events.
