Raleigh's was a great bar at 2483 Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley, CA. They had greasy/cheap food, lots of beer, and a nice atmosphere.

Then, in 2006, their liquor license was suspended for 20 days after they were caught serving alcohol to someone who was underage. When the same thing happened again on December 18, 2008 - this time closing the bar for 25 days - the owner decided to sell the restaurant rather than face the risk of losing his liquor license completely. (The CA Alcoholic Beverage Control Department has the authority to revoke the alcohol license of businesses caught making three sales to minors within a three-year period.)

On January 9, 2009, the restaurant was officially sold and renamed as Manny's Taproom. YELP reviews were promising and seemed to show that Berkeley-ites still liked their Telegraph Avenue bar, no matter what it was called.

Then, in November 2011, a fire broke out in the building and destroyed Manny's Taproom, along with several apartments and some other businesses. The building was eventually torn down and there have been several delays in the construction of a replacement. As of February, 2014, Manny's Taproom/Raleigh's has not reopened.
