The CornBelters are a baseball team based in Normal and play in the Frontier League, which is not affiliated with the Major Baseball League. The CornBelters play against teams in the Frontier League based in the Midwest, with opponents from Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

The team was named during a fan competition. Several creative ideas were offered, and the CornBelters was the eventual winner. The name is a play on the area of the country in which the team is located, the Midwest which is referred to as the “Corn Belt” of America.

The Normal Cornbelters, part of the Frontier League, had their inaugural season in 2010. With a brand new state of the art facility, The Corn Crib built on the campus of Heartland Community College the Cornbelters has a growing following among the students who attend the college. Also, the facility is shared with the HCC men's and women's soccer team, as well as the baseball and softball team.

Corny, the teams mascot has been out and about in the community. He has made an appearance at Pepper Ridge elementary for family night, and spent halloween at the Miller Park Zoo. He is quickly building a name for himself as a staple of the community and the team has not even played a game yet.

The team itself has done pretty well. The ballpark is very new and clean, a very inviting place to be. There a many concessions and prizes, even games for the kids. The games never get to crowded, so it is a great place to bring the kids. The tickets are very cheap as well. Tickets starting at just six dollars! Its a very good time, the field is beautiful, made from astro turf. The complex is fairly good size, and is kept in great shape. There is always places to park and parking is only 2 dollars! If you enjoy baseball this is a great place to come, cheap family fun!
