Overview

Wehrenberg Galaxy 14 Cinemas is located on 1111 Wylie Drive in Bloomington, IL. This is one of the most popular movie theater and has the most digital screens in the Bloomington-Normal area. It's biggest feature is the mega screen which holds 455 people (but they sell down to 7% so you can still get a good seat) and is 1.5x bigger of a screen than that of a standard movie theater screen. Wehrenberg Galaxy 14 is a great place for family and friends. It has a great visual surrounding from the lobby to the theatre itself. The staff is very friendly and will help you with any need that comes up. If you are planning on having a birthday party for your child the Galaxy has its own party room and specials for children’s birthday parties. There is a MVP card system where all you need to do is sign up and you get a simple card that looks like a credit card and for every transaction that you have at the Galaxy will give you points. When the points total certain amounts you can receive free popcorn, soda, and/or movie tickets.

Be expecting to spend at least $10 on food if you go there. However, rather than just the traditional popcorn, soda, candy and nachos, they serve food such as hamburgers, popcorn shrimp, chicken strips, grilled chicken, ice cream, egg rolls, fries, tenderloin, toasted ravioli and more.

Wednesday Nights

Have you ever asked out that special someone you have been admiring only to realize that you are strapped for cash? Instead of taking that special someone out for an evening of dining at Taco-Bell you should check out Wehrenberg Theater's Galaxy 14. On Wednesdays movie tickets are buy one get one free with a student I.D. Also as if the deal could not get any sweeter they include a free medium popcorn. All said, this deal will get you 2 movie tickets and popcorn for under $7 and frankly I do not think any of their local competitors can come close to rivaling that deal. Another get offer that Wehrenberg offers is their MVP card. This is a points based rewards card that costs no money and earns you points for money that you spend that can be redeemed for movie tickets and concessions. While you might be thinking that you will have to dump an endless amount of cash into the Galaxy 14 to receive any significant reward that simply isn't the case. My fiance and I received a free popcorn after buying only 4 movie tickets. The MVP card with the Wednesday movie deal is so tempting that it will make any student an avid movie-goer.

2010-11-14 17:04:26   This theater is pretty nice, but I had a simple complaint and that is that they do not offer refills. I understand that movie theater pops are huge already, but for the money you pay for them, you should get a refill. Most theaters offer them, so it is just annoying that they do not. —NathanLarkin

2011-02-16 09:59:10   The Galaxy is a great movie theater, I have attended this theater several times. I once saw a midnight showing and the staff was very helpful and and kind. They made sure that who ever was there first, was able to get first call for their seats in order to make things fair. The theater made it so that that night was free medium popcorn night. It is very clean and the seating in the theaters are very comfortable due the fact that they rock. The seats also gave the people the choice to fold up the arm rests.
