The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl- The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl is the new name of the Humanitarian Bowl as of August (2011). This bowl game is a NCAA Division 1 post season football game. The game is at Bronco Stadium on the campus of Boise State University. Bronco Stadium holds 33,500 people and is known for its playing surface which is Blue field turf. The Humanitarian Bowl was founded in 1997 and has been played annually since then. 2011 will be the first year the bowl game’s name has been changed to the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. The bowl recognizes the positive impact teams, coaches, and student-athletes have in their communities and their leadership roles in promoting humanitarian efforts. The bowl generates close to one-million dollars for Boise States facilities and charities that take part in the event.

It is currently the longest running cold weather bowl game in college football. It currently matches teams from the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), most of the time the conference champion with a team from the Mid-American Conference. The game is nationally televised on ESPN.
