The 1892 Spiegel Building is located within the Old Boise Historic District, and is home to Pengilly’s Saloon. The Old Boise district on Main Street features several historic buildings that survived the Urban Renewal process of the 1960s. Today these historic buildings form a commercial and entertainment district which includes several bars and music venues, including Pengilly’s Saloon. The venue is known for its 114 year-old Brunswick bar and performances by local musicians, including Bill Coffey, Frim Fram Four, John Hansen, Rebecca Scott and Ben Burdick, and jazz artist Curtis Stigers who co-owns the bar.
