Looking for some excitement on a week night? Then get down to a Steelheads hockey game where the ice truly heats up. Haven’t been you say then let me tell you a little about one of Boise's most popular professional sports teams. The Idaho Steelheads got their start back in 1997 as part of the West Coast Hockey League (WCHL) and after 5 seasons of mediocrity were absorbed into the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), one of the two farm leagues for the teams in the NHL. Since their transition into the ECHL the Idaho Steelheads have brought the trophy home on three different occasions, the 2003-2004, and 2006-2007 seasons the Steelheads were the last team standing on the ice winning the Kelly Cup in dominating fashion, and after the 2009-2010 season the Steelheads were the ECHL's best team, winning the Brabham Cup. Being one who has been to many Steelheads hockey games, I can say the experience is one truly of its own. Whether you’re single to having a family of five everyone can enjoy what the Idaho Steelheads have to offer. The ticket prices are reasonable, with seats that range from $16 to $50 dollars depending on where you sit, so persons of any budget can afford to see great hockey game. For those appropriately aged adult beverages are sold and though they may be a bit pricey it is something that can take the edge off while you sit and take in some excellent hockey. Idaho Steelheads Hockey runs from late October through the end of March so if you’re looking for somewhere to meet up with friends or a way to break up the monotony of the workweek give em a shot I promise you won’t be disappointed.
