This cabin is the second of the structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps on Capitol Blvd. Constructed in 1940, the building was to celebrate Idaho's 50th year of statehood, as well as serving as the office of the State Forestry.

Today, the cabin serves as the home of The Literary Center. Still a public building, you are invited to look in and around the structure and admire the excellent craftsmanship of the CCC. Some of the defining characteristics of this cabin is the absence of any nails when observing the exterior, and every room in the interior having a different wood pattern making no room alike.
