Intermountain Fair Housing Council

Fair housing is not a choice, it's the law and in Idaho the organization responsible for ensuring fair housing for all is the Intermountain Fair Housing Council. Following the guidelines of the fair housing act, the IFHC is dedicated to ensuring fair housing practices are available to everyone. Functioning as a nonprofit organization the Intermountain Fair Housing Council is dedicated to promoting fair housing opportunities for both consumers and housing providers throughout Idaho. The IFHC aims to educate consumers by providing information on housing lenders and providers. They provide services to those that need information on better housing choices for their needs. Housing providers and lending institutions are held responsible by the IFHC. By monitoring the fair practices, the council also engages in enforcement activities which include investigation, testing, negotiates fair housing settlements, conciliation, or litigation, if necessary. The city of Boise feels that under the guidance of the Fair Housing Act of 1968 the furthering of fair housing practices is necessary. The IFHC sees that nobody is discriminated against because of race, color, country of origin, sex, family status, or disabilities. If you feel you have faced housing discrimination you can file a complaint with the IFHC. Located at 350 N. 9th street #M200 Boise, ID (208) 383-0695 ifhcidaho.org/
