If you have special diet needs like Gluten-Free, vegan or lactose-free, navigating a new area in a foreign language with foreign products can be daunting.  However, you will find some restaurants and many products suited to your needs.  For example, there are gluten-free and diabetic sections in just about every grocery store (even though they may be small!).  The many organic, or 'Bio', shops also carry quite a few products for special needs such as soy yogurts, a variety of grains from buckwheat to millet. If a product really cannot be found locally, it can very likely be found online at Amazon or another source.
