The Boston Public Schools (BPS) serves the residents of the city of Boston with 125 schools.
Higher Education
Boston and the Greater Boston Area is home to approximately 60 institutions of higher education, half of which are in Boston proper. The schools have both urban and suburban campuses and range from large public institutions to large, small, and and special-focus schools. Because there is such a high population of college and graduate students in the area, Boston is considered an attractive place to live and work because of the good education.
