Niawanda Park has a pathway for both walkers and bicycle riders. Enjoy a nice walk by the water and walk alongside the park's geese and ducks. Looking to relax, as well? With numerous benches and picnic tables available, the park offers a large stretch of land for relaxing. Glaze at the sunset, snack on food, and take in nature's beauty with loved ones. The options are endless with what family and friends can do down by Niagara River.

Niagara River

Niawanda Park is alongside the Niagara River and is Tonawanda City's largest park. Niagara River runs to Niagara Falls and flows north from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. The Niagara is 36 miles in length and is estimated to be 12,000 years old! In addition, The Great Lakes (the planet's largest surface freshwater system) all the flow to this body of water.

Over 1,000,000 people have access to Niagara's water supply and use the water for a number of reasons. Americans and Canadians both use the water for drinking, recreation, hydro-power generation, and as a industrial cooling water supply. These are only a few of the many examples as to how Niagara River is beneficial.
