Generally the only snow in Camarillo is fake snow

As the radio croons "Let it Snow", we in Camarillo know it's unlikely. In recent history, it has only snowed a hand-full of times. The most recent was in the mid-1980s. The results of which were a light dusting of snow that stuck around for a few hours in the low-lying areas.

However, our town is not devoid of winter holiday traditions. Every year, people line the edges of Las Posas Road and Carmen Drive to watch the Camarillo Christmas Parade. Shopping center street lights are decorated with tinsel snowflakes and larger than life candy canes. Another favorite tradition is neighborhood-coordinated Christmas Light Displays, such as those on Gemini Court. Many Camarillians make or order tamales for Christmas.
