La Residence is a restaurant located in the district of East Rosemary Street in Chapel Hill, next to the AC Hotel by Marriott Downton Chapel Hill and behind the 140 West apartment building. A fine-dining experience specializing in French food with signature American features since 1976, the restaurant offers weekly dinners with dishes such as duck breast, truffle risotto and caramelized lamb shank (see the full dinner menu here), and a special weekend brunch famous for its bottomless mimosas (see the full brunch menu here).

One reviewer on Yelp commented: "I've been to La Residence twice now and would not hesitate to return...The ambience is lovely, our servers were both perfectly attentive and the duck breast (w/mashed potatoes and green beans) was so good the first time that I ordered it again the second time. Yum!"

With its airy and alfresco atmosphere, La Residence also offers opportunities for hosting weddings, events and private parties. Following dinner hours, La Residence opens up as a nightly bar popular among the students and young adults of UNC-Chapel Hill, to which it is referred to as "La Res." On weekends, the bar offers nightly drink specials and a live DJ.
