The author of the story collections Daddy's (featherproof books) and Don't Kiss Me (FSG), and the novel Ugly Girls (FSG), Lindsay Hunter is a Florida native who now lives in Chicago with her husband, son, and two pit bulls. She is a graduate of the M.F.A.-Fiction program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the founder, with Mary Hamilton, of the Quickies! reading series. Hunter's gorgeously gross and tender stories are well-loved at readings all across the city for years now, and on paper they defy genre.  "I start with a sentence," she told The Short Form about her process, "and I follow it like a road."
