Sector 2337 (2337 N. Milwaukee Avenue), co-founded by Caroline Picard and Devin King in Logan Square, is a storefront gallery and bookstore that will host three exhibitions a year, supplemented by a series of public programs and readings. It is the evolution of The Green Lantern Press and Gallery, the non-profit artist-run press and space founded by Picard in 2005.

Green Lantern Press publishes books, each conceived as a curatorial site featuring small editions printed with artist plates, ephemeral inserts, and silk screen covers. The Press is efficient, economic, and intent on local production, and will continue to function within Sector 2337, which is organized as a for-profit bookstore. "It is our hope," writes Picard, "that by balancing for-profit and non-profit structures, we can cover our administrative costs through the Sector revenue stream, while providing a line of support for artists and authors alike."

"By marrying these threads—contemporary exhibitions, readings, performances, poetry, and printed matter—we continue the spirit of The Green Lantern Gallery and Press," writes King, "making community, culture, and discourse easily accessible to Chicago."
