Casa Ramos is a Mexican restaurant with locations in both North Chico and South Chico. They are part of a small Northern California chain of eleven restaurants that started in Yreka. The North Chico location was the first in Chico, with the much larger South Chico location opening after the closure of Casa Lupe's Chico location. They were awarded the Chico News & Review's 2007 Best of Chico award for Best Mexican Restaurant.
Casa Ramos offers the standard Mexican restaurant fare, with thick yellow corn tortilla chips and chunky salsa (although beware that the menu does state that only one basket of chips is complimentary and a $1 charge applies to additional servings of chips!). They have lunch specials, but they are only available Monday through Friday. Additionally the restaurant has a large selection of alcoholic beverages, from beer and wine to martinis and margaritas.
The menu is extensive with combination plates and various specials. There are several seafood options on the menu as well. They have many vegetarian options with the usual suspects and some more unusual offerings such as spinach enchiladas and vegetable fajitas. Their Mexican rice is said to not have chicken broth and the rancho-style beans are vegetarian (the refried beans are not).
