In Chico the General Plan has designated certain areas as commercial zones. These areas are designated for commercial uses some of which may require a permit. There are several types of commercial zone.
Official Parcel Designations
- Downtown Residential Zone (RD) - Downtown - Maximum 30 units per gross acre Commercial and Office Zoning Districts
- Office Residential Zone (OR) - Office
- Office Commercial Zone (OC) - Office
- Neighborhood Commercial Zone (CN) - Mixed-Use Neighborhood Core/Community Commercial
- Community Commercial Zone (CC) - Community Commercial
- Downtown Commercial Zone (CD) - Downtown - Residential uses, maximum 50 vertical density units per gross acre
- Service Commercial Zone (CS) - Commercial Services
- Restricted Commercial Zone (C-1) - Commercial
- General Commercial Zone (C-2) - Commercial
