For all Chico's greatness, sometimes businesses have to shut their doors forever. Here we remind ourselves of places we used to walk by, patron, and, perhaps, enjoy.

2008-06-24 02:17:27   Paradise Lost has actually moved. I don't know the exact address but it's by Park and 20th right next to Flavor Falls. —68.127.49.124

2008-08-13 15:43:12   There was a music venue called "The Burro Room" connected to Juanita's (formally "Hey, Juan"), where Pizza Face later opened. In the late 80's and early 90's, it was one of the only venues in Chico, and a large part of their music was alternative (when it really was alternative, not mainstream). Nirvana and many others played there. —72.156.165.112

2009-05-10 15:44:33   My mom mentioned a drive-thru dairy that used to be located on Mangrove between First Avenue and Chico Cemetery. She thinks it was something like "Milky Way Drive-In" but isn't confident. Anyone else have any recollection of this place? I'd love to get a page up for it, but we aren't sure of the name. —StaceyEllis

2009-05-25 17:58:51   In the early to mid-80s there was a take-and-bake pizza place located on East Avenue, across from Chuck Patterson’s, just east of the Esplanade. It was in a small strip of stores that currently house a barber shop and I think a dog groomer. This was the first take-and-bake pizza we’d ever heard of (pre-Papa Murphy’s) and I believe it was locally owned. They made the best pizza. Anyone else remember this? —MaryMo
