2009-05-18 17:51:42   I vote we put up the Miller Mansion next! Though it would be better with a full resolution image (say, 800x600). Other candidate: Summer. Pretty good page being born just today :-) —RyanMikulovsky

2009-05-18 18:04:15   My vote is either Summer, one of the visiting Chico pages (as graduation is this week and next) or the Outlaws, as baseball season is about to begin. —JohnNash

  • Hmm. Yes those are good ideas! I think we actually did Chico Outlaws last summer but I might be mistaken. It's worth putting up again, though. —RyanMikulovsky
  • Ahh that was while I was still in Davis, so I wouldn't have known. I do think (maybe just a week) doing something catering to families coming to graduation. My parents are coming up for my gf's and they've been on the site and Im sure google will pull some over too.
  • Okay, sounds like Visiting Chico would be good to put up. Any other comments? —RyanMikulovsky
  • I am all for Visiting Chico. In fact, I think I was pulling for a variation on it last fall when everyone was first moving to town. I think it's a great idea and would be incredibly helpful to anyone coming to graduation. Also, we never did Chico Outlaws last year. It was thrown around as an idea, but we never went forward with it. I say that should follow right behind Visiting. Miller Mansion is really interesting and we finally have info about it, but it's not really seasonal, so we can do it next time we don't have something time-sensitive like visiting families or summertime sports. —StaceyEllis

2009-05-18 19:38:42   Okay. Who wants to condense the Visiting Chico page for a featured page? I'm desperately trying to avoid editing and study relativity instead. —RyanMikulovsky

2009-05-31 15:50:47   So now that everyone has graduated, perhaps it is time for the Featured Page to be Summer or Chico Outlaws? —RyanMikulovsky

  • I am good with either. Maybe we can do a mix in a way? Make summer the feature page but put a more substantial blurb in it directing people to the outlaws? —JohnNash
  • A mix seems like a good idea. Baseball is a big part of summer, but we could also highlight other summer things (outdoor activities, swimming, farmer's market, etc) in it. Anyone have time to get it written up? I can get to it eventually if no one else can. —StaceyEllis
  • I can probably get to it tonight or at the latest tomorrow. That is unless someone has a burning desire to do it, that's fine by me. —JohnNash

2009-07-18 20:17:26   I know it's only mid July, but maybe we should start thinking of a back to school/welcome to chico students theme for our next featured page? What does everyone think and if that happens to be agreeable with everyone, when should it go up? —JohnNash

2009-07-19 08:06:40   Yeah the featured page needs changing. A page to entice new or current Chico State students would be nice. I'm short on ideas at the moment, though, especially since the Chico State page itself is not very useful. Although we could also thinking about elementary or high school students. But then again, those pages are kind of slim. I'll have to think a little on this one. —RyanMikulovsky

2009-07-19 11:17:07   I went looking through the edit history of Featured Page because I was almost certain we did some sort of "Welcome to Chico" thing for the newly arrived last fall. Turns out we only kicked the idea around on the talk page and never actually did it. This year let's do it for sure! There's at least the beginning of something on the talk page archive to get us started (plus the Visiting Chico stuff we did for graduation). In the meantime, summer has been up for a while now, maybe we can put something else up for the next month and get the welcome stuff going in mid-August. Any ideas? Someone had mentioned Miller Mansion as an option. Any other good ones? —StaceyEllis

2009-07-19 13:04:31   I know you guys have been wanting to do Miller Mansion for a while and as the tourist season in Chico is starting to die off, I see no reason why it wouldnt be a perfect time to do it. —JohnNash

2009-08-18 10:55:00   OK, guys, I think now is the time to do an introduction to Chico for the incoming students. I think school starts in about a week, so people are getting settled in and they will hopefully be stumbling on Chico Wiki now. If anyone wants to put something together, that would be great, otherwise I'll see what I can do in the near future. Let's just adapt what we did for graduation, since it'll still be relevant to newcomers. —StaceyEllis

  • I got impatient and went for it. Please make any changes you want. I just got antsy and wanted something new up there, you know how it is... —StaceyEllis

2009-10-11 10:52:53   So I have some time today, anyone have any objections to me switching the featured page to Halloween? —JohnNash

  • Zero objections from me. I'm excited that it'll be changing :-) Have fun! —RyanMikulovsky
  • Great idea! Once it's up, I can see if there is anything to add from the Chicoan perspective. I was a teenager in the 90s, the height of Halloween chaos... —StaceyEllis

2009-10-11 19:58:15   there is an additional pumpkin patch and corn maze in Orland —99.137.18.200

  • What's it called? Where is it? It definitely belongs on here, so hopefully someone knows more about it. If you have any relevant info about it, feel free to add it directly to the Featured Page. —StaceyEllis
  • I know it, was there last year, just didn't add it. Will do today. —JohnNash

2009-11-02 09:07:20   I was just looking at the front page and realized that Halloween is over and we should probably change the featured page. This is somewhat time sensitive, since we look sorta silly leaving up Halloween too many days into November. I propose maps as the next featured page. Mostly because I am a geographer and I like maps. If anyone has a better suggestion, I'm totally up for it. However, if I don't hear anything soon, I'll probably at least put maps in as a placeholder this afternoon until a new idea gets thrown in to the mix. Thoughts? —StaceyEllis

2009-11-03 16:06:41   Sounds good to me. —RyanMikulovsky

2009-11-05 19:47:46   OK, as you've seen, I never did get that taken care of the other day. But it's totally on my to do list. Soon...I swear... —StaceyEllis
