The Student Services Center (SSC) is a building on the Chico State campus located at Second and Ivy. The building was built on the former site of the Temporary Buildings (which were temporary since 1972). The intention of the design of the building and its surroundings was to become the new "gateway area" to the university.
The building is the new focal point of student services at Chico State. Where many services such as admissions and financial aid used to be scattered all about campus, they are now housed within the 120,000 square feet, 4 story Student Services Center. The SSC designers are attempting to gain LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
