Ted Meriam (April 4, 1910- August 5, 2001) was a historic figure in Chico. He is the namesake of the Meriam Library.
He was born at the Meriam residence at 805 Rio Chico, the house at the corner of Cherry and Rio Chico streets.
Ted Meriam served in all of the following capacities:
- Member of the CSU Board of Trustees (1960-71), serving as Chair (1968-69)
- Member of the Chico City Council and Mayor of Chico
- President of the California League of Cities
