Theodore "Ted" Schwein Jr. was the son of Theodore "Theo" Schwein Sr. and grandson of Mathais "Matt" Schwein, a California and Chico pioneer. Ted married Marian Lane and had two surviving children, Robert Lloyd Schwein and Margaret Ellen (Schwein) Bray. Theodore grew up in Chico in the nationally recognized historic Theodore Schwein house located at 527 Cherry Street. Ted was a woodworker, teaching woodshop and other courses in Live Oak, Portola, and Richmond. Upon retirement, Ted built his retirement home on Lake Almanor at 140 Penninsula Drive and lived there for many years.
