The Junction facing north Chico Hotel and Hintz Grocery at the Junction (Chico: A 20th Century Pictoral History)

The Junction is the historical name of the area of downtown where Business 99 meets Highway 32.

This intersection is home to several businesses including Chevron (Downtown), Chico Brewery, Chico Natural Foods, Amigos de Acapulco, Chico Bike and Board and Wakefield & Sons Glass. It is also home to an Unnamed Triangular Park.

The triangle parcels between Broadway and Oroville Avenue that currently are occupied by Herreid Music and Amigos De Acapulco were owned by Chico pioneers Matt and Anna Schwein. The Junction Meat Market operated in that location for many years around 1900 by Theodore Schwein and Louis Schwein. More recent occupants were Sound Source and the Blue Fox. The Blue Fox hosted many famous and non-famous acts such as Primus and Mary's Danish.
