Brett Smith is the director at Miami University Institute for Entrepreneurship and an associate professor of entrepreneurship Miami University (Oxford, OH). He is also the Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship & Founding Director at the Center for Social Entrepreneurship. Brett has developed world class program focused on the integration of teaching, research and practice of social entrepreneurship. He founded the Center for Social Entrepreneurship.
Teaching:
• Initiated first course at university in social entrepreneurship.
• Developed real-world client engagement opportunities with corporations and nonprofit organizations.
• Utilized innovative in-class simulation to replicate three-tiered, low mobility economic.

• Founded Edun Live on Campus, a partnership with Bono’s company Edun, a socially conscious clothing company designed to promote economic development in Africa and to teach students social entrepreneurship through experiential learning.
• Developed strategic partnership with Social Entrepreneur Corps to provide summer internship opportunities for students
• Spoken around the world on social entrepreneurship at events including United Nations executive committee (NGOs and entrepreneurship) and the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
