In 2012, active business owners and members of Xavier University created CiNBA to stimulate growth among local enterprises. Fuel Cincinnati showed support, funding operations with a $1200 grant that helped us bring Jeff Milchen, founder of the American Independent Business Alliance (AMIBA), to Cincinnati. By joining AMIBA's affiliates, CiNBA learned best practices for supporting local enterprise and gathered regional support. CiNBA is a partner of the Economics of Compassion Initiative (ECI).

In 2013 CiNBA became the first of 90 AMIBA affiliates nationwide to link with a university, setting a new precedent for local business engagement. Our home in Xavier's William's College of Business connects CiNBA with experts and connects motivated undergrad and MBA students with businesses that need their support.

Today, CiNBA has worked with over 160 businesses through our diverse programs. They have closely engaged over 200 MBA and undergraduate students at Xavier University to tackle more complex problems for over a dozen locally owned businesses.
