The Cuyahoga River rises in Geauga County, flows southwest into Portage County and Summit County before turning north in Cuyahoga Falls. It continues north through the heart of Cuyahoga County, bisecting the city of Cleveland, before emptying into Lake Erie near downtown Cleveland.
