ROCCUPY 2.0 CONCERT SET LIST RELEASED:

Diversity of Music and Ideas to be Showcased at Simon Park

 Occupy Conway will present a concert and educational event from 3:00-9:00 pm this Saturday, May 12 at Simon Park in downtown Conway.  Catered by The Green Cart Deli and accompanied by a variety of news and informational booths, the musical lineup is as follows:

Occupy Conway member Jim Mosley expressed appreciation for this year’s program, "In keeping with the variety of viewpoints represented in our group, the array of music to be presented at Roccupy 2.0 will offer something for everyone and looks to be both entertaining and fun.”

Occupy Conway is a local movement in solidarity with a people-powered uprising for societal and structural change evident in many countries in the world.  The group seeks to bring community attention to this emergent development which  highlights social and economic inequality, greed, corruption and the excessive influence of corporations on government, particularly from the financial services sector.  Active Occupy Conway member Syn explains, "We want to continually alert people to the abuses of our current system.  Just like our first Roccupy last fall was the kickoff to our occupation of Laurel Park, this springtime Roccupy 2.0 is the start of our standing occupation of Conway." 

 Many Occupy groups have become active in Arkansas, notably in Little Rock through a physical occupation site yet including a number of smaller communities throughout the state.  All aim for greater education and non-violent actions calling attention to systemic injustice and new ways of thinking.
