Basil Thai is a chain restaurant that has a location just on the Urbana side of campus. It gets mixed reviews on food sites, but is known locally as a good place for students to get Thai food without straying from campus. There is a full vegetarian menu. The prices are reasonable, averaging about $7 of $8 for a meal, with fairly large portion sizes. You can dine in or carry out. If dining in, you clear your own table, negating the need to leave a tip for service. They serve soups, stir-fries, noodles, and curries and those who eat in can add a few different sauces or toppings to their meal for no charge.

They are currently running a card-based promotion. Each time you order a meal costing $7.95 or more and pay with cash, they stamp your card, and after 10 stamps, you get a free meal of $7.95 or less.
