Dawn and Jerry have a booth at the Lincoln Square Farmers' Market, where they sell plants and seasonal fruits, but specialize in seasonal vegetables. Based out of Sydney, IL, they are a small family operation and try to focus on smaller, niche markets. Their big sellers are asparagus, green beans, and cherry tomatoes but have spinach, broccoli, lettuce, and berries. They sell local honey and homemade beeswax candles, which look exactly like ears of corn.
Because of the honey bees on their property, they grow their produce without the use of chemicals. And though they are not certified organic, they have 20 years of growing experience behind them. Dawn and Jerry are also community conscious and donate their weekly surplus to the food pantry. Summer 2012 was their fourth summer at the Farmers' Market.
