This article provides some basic information that can help people who are sight impaired. I thought of putting this up due to my recent interaction with a senior who complained of severe sight challenge that initially set her interest in reading backward. In my interaction with her, she showed me a device and asked whether I know what the function of the device is and my answer was a no. On the recommendation of her doctor, she has been offered a digital audiobook for free according to her, by the library of congress. It is said that a librarian can also recommend an individual for same. She demonstrated how the device works and allowed me take some pictures posted along this article.

Information about this device is available on the library of congress website here . It is pertinent to note that while a number of people may assume an audiobook is only provided for people with total blindness, the senior I met with was not totally blind. In fact she only have problem reading small prints according to her. She could read materials that are magnified to some required degree. This is to encourage any individuals who may fall in this category to go through the requirements for obtaining such device in the embedded link. There is no reason why everyone should not be able to read or be read to! Below are some additional sources of information.
