Halestine Jackson Session, a native of Hartsville. S.C. the proud wife of David Henry Session. Earnings degrees from Allen University, Columbia S.C. and the university of Illinois prepared her for a rewarding career in public school teaching from which she is now retired .. She was recognized by Bank of Illinois and Channel 15 as Teacher of the Month in 1989. Mrs. Session is a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she continues to use her gifts and talent teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible school. She also gives freely of her time working with the Scholarship and Benevolent committee at the church.

She was a charter member of the National Council of Negro Women, Champaign County section.
