Kathryn B. Jones, 1983
Since coming to Champaign nearly forty years ago, Mrs. Jones has done "a little of everything." For many years she has been a foster parent and has been involved in a number of community service projects. She is presently a volunteer with the preschool at Salem Baptist Church. She has received several awards, including Black Mom of the Year of 1982 at the University of Illinois, and said in 1983 that she was "proud that I can help others."
