The LINC (Learning IN Community) class offers unique opportunities for students and organizations to partner together on a real world project.  These projects include enhancing local and international organizations ability to impact their community. These classes are open to students, but individuals or organizations who wish to start or get involved with a project are also encouraged to contact Valeri [email protected]

Past projects have included building a rain garden, constructing bridges in China, improving electric vehicle design, and more.

The Mali Water Project is one of the first project and aims to provide better access to clean water to Konilo-Coura, a rural village in Mali.  The project was started by a U of I faculty member who grew up in Konilo-Coura.  Over the past few years the class has been able to get to know the local community, understand their needs, explore potential systems to better meet their water demands, and learn about the challenges involved in the global water crisis.
