Controversies

In October 2015, The Daily Illini came under fire from students and community members for publishing a controversial Halloween-themed comic. The comic depicted a man climbing a fence and saying "I'm going as an illegal immigrant!" Students expressed their frustrations via social media and the Daily Illini issued an apology.
