The Odyssey Project is a yearlong, college-accredited course in the humanities offered at no cost to adults in the community living below or slightly above the federal poverty level. The purpose of the course is to introduce students to the humanities and to help them re-enter the world of higher education.

Classes meet on Thursday evenings on the University of Illinois campus. Courses are taught by faculty and upper level graduate students from the University Of Illinois. Syllabi and readings are comparable to those students might encounter in first and second-year university humanities courses. Tuition is free; books, childcare, and transportation vouchers are provided at no cost.

Odyssey Student Monica Brewer was recently selected as one of 2011's "Outstanding Women You Should Know" by the Working Women's Expo of the Illini Radio Group.

Congratulations to the 2012 Odyssey Project Class!
